EATING DISORDER GROUPS DENVER: DBT GROUP
LEARN DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY (DBT) SKILLS

8-WEEK SERIES: WEDNESDAYS, 6-7:30pm
MAY 15 thru JULY 19 (note date change!)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) was originally developed in the 1970‘s by a researcher named Marsha Linehan, PhD, for the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder. Since that time, DBT has been found to be highly effective for the treatment of mood disorders (such as Depression, Anxiety and Bipolar Disorder), recovery from sexual traumas, and addictions (including Chemical Dependency and Eating Disorders). DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness strategies derived from Buddhist meditative practices. DBT typically involves skills training in four areas: Mindfulness Meditation, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.

Group facilitated by REBECCA SCULLEY, MA, LPC, an EDIT™ Certified Counselor with special training in DBT. Co-facilitated by an EDIT™ Counselor Intern. Can’t make this group? Rebecca also meets with clients on a 1-on-1 basis.

EVERY MONDAY, 6-7:30pm
NOTE: we will NOT meet MAY 22, MAY 29, JUNE 5
PLEASE JOIN US when the group resumes on JUNE 12!

What would it be like to be FREE of your issues with food and weight? Maybe you’re among the 95% of dieters who regain any weight they may lose (plus more) – a phenomenon called diet-induced obesity. Or, you may be among the 35% of dieters who develop eating disorders such as binge eating or food addiction. If this is true, then this group is for you! An ounce of intuition a day keeps the pounds away.

Each week, you’ll learn a new skill from Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy (EDIT)™ – the method developed for the treatment of emotional eating, compulsive eating, binge eating, food addiction, and other types of eating disorders which often occur after dieting. You’ll discover how weight loss can be a natural outcome of following the EDIT™ Principles, and you’ll experience success far beyond the number on the scale!

Group developed & supervised by DR. DORIE MCCUBBREY – Owner & Clinical Director of Positive Pathways, and Creator of Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy(EDIT)™ for freedom from eating and weight problems. Co-facilitated by EDIT™ Certified Counselors, and EDIT™ Counselor Interns who are completing their Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Naropa University. Can’t make this group series? Ask Dr. Dorie about 1-on-1 sessions!
