Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy (EDIT)™ – Experiential Sessions:
Intuitive Eating and Exercise, Art and Body Image Therapy Denver
At Positive Pathways, we offer EDIT™ Experiential Sessions to allow for an in-depth and hands-on application of key aspects of the EDIT™ principles. Each Experiential Session is typically 2 hours in duration, and sessions are conducted by EDIT™ Certified Counselors and EDIT™ Counselor Interns who have thorough training in these specialty areas.
The first principle states, “Love Your Self” — which might seem easier said than done, especially if you struggle with negative body image. Our Body Image Therapy Session can guide you to think more positively about your body, but also show you how to feel better in your body.
The second EDIT™ principle encourages, “Be True To Your Self” — and you may be able to hear the voice of your intuition offering you guidance, but find it difficult to follow through on its wisdom. Our Intuitive Eating and Intuitive Exercise Training Sessions can show you how to put this second principle into practice.
The third EDIT™ principle advises, “Express Your Self” — but how can this be done through non-verbal means, which can allow deeper healing below the level of the mind, at the core of the heart and soul? This is exactly what our Art Therapy Sessions are all about.

Body Image Therapy
There are several components of this EDIT Experiential Session, which allow you to take the meaning of “Love Your Self” to a deeper level. You’ll learn about your current Body Image Assumptions, and learn how to challenge any unhelpful beliefs. You’ll explore how the media has influenced your current ideals for your own body, and how to see beyond external images to discover your True Beauty. You’ll be guided through visualizations which can help you shift the experience you currently have, so you can feel more accepting about your body, but also feel at peace in your body.
Intuitive Eating Training
As a part of this EDIT Experiential Session, you’ll discover how to take the meaning of “Be True To Your Self” to a deeper level, as you explore concept of intuition and how to apply it to your eating. You’ll learn about the “Three Reasons Why We Eat,” and how to increase your eating awareness as a means to reduce eating disorder behaviors. You’ll learn now to allow your intuition to guide the type and amount of food your body truly needs. You’ll experience mindfulness techniques to enhance your intuitive meal process. Then, you’ll practice what you’ve learned by enjoying a meal or snack!
Intuitive Exercise Training
This EDIT Experiential Session further explores the meaning of “Be True To Your Self” at a deeper level, as you reflect about intuition and how to apply it to your exercise. You’ll discover how to reconnect with your intuition and “have fun with fitness,” as a means to reduce exercise addiction or other rigid exercise patterns. You’ll learn now to allow your intuition to guide the type and amount of movement your body truly needs. You’ll experience mindfulness techniques to enhance your intuitive exercise process. Then, you’ll practice what you’ve learned by “playing in the park”!
There are several components of this EDIT Experiential Session, which allow you to take the meaning of “Express Your Self” to a deeper level. You’ll explore the use of different types of art materials as a means of communicating your thoughts and feelings in non-verbal ways. You’ll blossom into your fullest creative expression, which can take you below the level of your mind and into the depths of your heart and soul. You’ll come away with insights and experiences unlike those you’ve had from traditional “talk-therapy.” You’ll discover the work of art that your True Self truly is!
